| Company Overview |
|
| Standard Life Insurance Company of Indiana, since its acquisition by a new owner in 2005, wrote primarily annuity business, both with life contingencies and without. It was licensed in all states, except New York and New Jersey, plus DC. It was placed in rehabilitation on December 18, 2008 by the state court in Indianapolis. At the Rehabilitator's request, the court ordered a 6-month moratorium on loans and surrenders.
The Rehabilitator is in the process of analyzing the situation to see if a rehabilitation plan can be proposed. It is anticipated that the Rehabilitator will propose a formal hardship plan to be in effect during the moratorium period.
